Born and raised in Shenzhen, China, I moved to Bellevue, WA, at 15 with my mom and little brother.
Writing and storytelling have always been how I explore my identity, connect with my community, and make sense of the world around me. In high school, I led the Features section of our student newspaper, where I interviewed people from all walks of life and shared their stories. I went on to study public relations and business in college and now work in marketing & communications, helping large companies and startups improve operations and craft go-to-market strategies.

At Generation 1.5, we also embrace the full spectrum of in-between immigrant experiences:
No matter your age of arrival, if you’ve had to build a life between cultures—this is your community.
People in this space are often:
At Generation 1.5, we’re creating a space where these identities are understood and celebrated. Whether you’re here to share your story, explore your roots, or connect with others—you belong here.
